The B2 Level (Vantage or upper intermediate) user

  • Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization.
  • Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
  • Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Description of DELF B2 examination

Listening

  • Comprehension questions based on several recordings (played twice maximum)
  • Maximum duration of all recordings: 15 minutes

Reading

  • Comprehension questions based on several written documents.

Writing

  • Taking a personal stand (contributing to a debate, formal letter, review of a film/book)

Speaking

  • Stating and defending an opinion based on a short document designed to explicit a reaction
