The B1 Level (Threshold or intermediate) user
- Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
- Can deal with most situations likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
- Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest.
- Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Description of DELF B1 examination
Listening
- Comprehension questios based on several recordings (played twice)
- Maximum duration of recordings: 6 mins
Reading
Comprehension questions based on several written documents:
- Extract useful information concerning a particular task
- Analyze the contents of a document of general interest
Writing
- Express personal opinions on a general topic (essay, letter, article, etc).
Speaking
Oral examination in three parts:
- Guided conversation (2 at 3 minutes)
- Role play (3 at 4 minutes)
- Expressing an opinion on a document designed to elicit a reaction (5 at 7 minutes)
