Please note that level A2 is the level which second-level students are supposed to have reached at the end of 3rd Year.
The A2 Level (Way stage or elementary) user
- Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
- Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
- Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Description of DELF A2 examination
Listening
- Comprehension questions based on several short recordings about everyday life (played twice)
- Maximum duration of recordings: 5 mins
Reading
- Comprehension questions based on several written documents about everyday life
Writing
Two short pieces to write (letter to a friend or message):
- Describe an event or personal experiences
- Invite, thank, apologise, ask for something, give information, congratulate...
Speaking
Oral examination in three parts:
- Guided conversation (Approximately 1 minute 30)
- Monologue (Approximately 2 minutes)
- Role play (Approximately 3 to 4 minutes)
