We were thrilled to welcome to Cork Oscar-winning French film director Régis Wargnier for a special screening of his latest film La Réparation / Redress, with the support of the Embassy of France in Ireland.

Congratulations to French short film Deux Personnes échangeant de la salive / Two People Exchanging Saliva (Alexandre Singh and Natalie Musteata) which won an Oscar last night and premiered in Ireland at our festival.

Our Cork French Film Festival is a finalist for the CORK BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARDS, in the Best Festival category!

On 9th March, we were delighted to welcome to Alliance Française de Cork Ms Ahern, Ms Philpott and their TY students from Ballincollig Community School for an immersion day which included French-language workshops in preparation for their school exchange with a French school in the north of France, and a screening of French film Divertimento.

The film we have chosen this year for our post-primary schools screenings as part of our 37th Cork French Film Festival is Le Panache (Jennifer Devoldère, France, 2024, in French with English subtitles).

Synopsis:
When Colin enters his new secondary school, he’s filled with anxiety. Stammering and unsure of himself, he fears he won’t fit in with his classmates. His life changes when he meets Monsieur Devarseau, his lively French teacher, who helps him find his voice — both literally and figuratively.
With newfound confidence and a group of friends by his side, Colin takes on an exciting challenge: performing Cyrano de Bergerac in front of the whole school...

New Art exhibition from 12th February 2026 at 7 pm, in our gallery at Alliance Française de Cork:

’Déjà View’

Eoin Coveney is an Irish illustrator, Bandes Dessinées Artist and digital painter.
#Influenced by Cinema, Comics and early 20th century illustration, this exhibition presents film Posters and original Bandes Dessinées art, from his 30+ year career.
Mentored in his youth by American Graphic Novel creator, Will Eisner, this collection of works boldly displays his diverse influences, and distills his understanding of Storytelling, Sequential Art, mastery of the human form, and their potency in conveying Emotion to the audience.
