TUTEURS ET DÉPLACEMENTS PAR ALAIN DENHEZ
Supports and Displacements makes us wonder about the way we see and comprehend the world and our own thought structures. Indeed, the structure is not fixed; the spectator brings his own identity and interrogations. Besides, when he seeks to understand how the structure works, he opens up a new path in his way of thinking and in the structure itself, which changes dimension. The structure shifts and becomes the framework of the support… As regards the displacement, it becomes the expression of our thoughts and questions… The line becomes a path. The support leads us to consider things as they really are, and not to flee reality. The displacement allows us to evacuate our psychological blocks; in finding our own path and examining our problems from a different angle, we can evolve by modifying the way we think and look at things. This work – rendered translucent by the penetration of wax on both sides – mimics the penetration of thought, and leads us to explore what we can only glimpse behind the surface, beyond the visible.
