C magazine organised the C Women of the Year Awards 2011 on Friday November 25th at the Imperial Hotel, Cork. The awards which were in twenty separate categories were all about acknowledging the contribution that Cork women make in different areas of life each day. These awards also acknowledged the efforts in promoting and showcasing Cork, a role that the Cork women  play a part in seeking to grow and expand the great Cork brand at home and overseas.

There were a number of nominees for each award category at the black tie ceremony. One of these nominees was announced as the winner and presented with the C Woman of the Year Award 2011 in that category.

The Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Terry Shannon and the Lady Mayoress Cllr Ursula Shannon were in attendance at the awards ceremony and RTE’s Alf McCarthy was Master of Ceremonies.

Congratulations to Nora on all her outstanding lifelong efforts and success in promoting French and Irish Culture, Arts and Language in Cork, Ireland and France! It is indeed great honour for Alliance Franҫaise de Cork to have our President  chosen as the Woman of the year!
