JUNIOR CERT IMMERSION COURSES

(suitable for students entering both 2nd year & 3rd year in September 2013)

• Enhance your understanding & expression in a purely French/Irish-speaking class environment

COURSE DURATION: Classes held over 1 week (20 hours) Monday to Friday 10am-12pm & 1-3pm daily (max 12 students)
J.CERT IRISH IMMERSION DATES: Choice of 3 Sessions: 17-21 June, 15-19 July, 19-23 August 2013
COST: €230, special Discount of €30 on combined total for a student booking for both French and Irish immersion courses

LEAVING CERT IMMERSION COURSES

(suitable for students entering both 5th Year & Leaving Cert in September 2013)

• Develop your speaking & understanding abilities in a purely French/Irish-speaking class environment
• Refresh & improve your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary
• Hand-outs provided

COURSE DURATION: Classes held over 1 week (25 hours) Monday to Friday 10am-12.30pm & 1.30-4pm daily (max 12 students)
COURSE DATES: L.CERT IRISH IMMERSION DATES: Choice of 3 Sessions: 10-14 June, 8-12 July, 12-16 August 2013
COST: €290, special Discount of €40 on combined total for a student booking for both French and Irish immersion courses.

IRISH LANGUAGE FOR JUNIOR CERT

& LEAVING CERT TUITION

As part of our mission to nurture Franco-Irish relations, and in response to the changing curriculum
for second level, with greater emphasis on oral expression for Leaving-Cert level, AF de Cork is
delighted to introduce Irish language classes for Junior Cert and Leaving Cert students
in 2013-2014.

YEAR-LONG IRISH COURSES FOR JUNIOR CERT & LEAVING CERT

Our courses, which concentrate specifically on the language component of the curriculum, are
designed to improve oral and written fluency, expression and comprehension in an immersive
classroom environment. Tutors are trained teachers with Gaeltacht experience.

Course Details:

• 6- 12 students per class
• 1.5 hours per week over 29 weeks
• Cost: €450 or €420 with early- booking discount before Saturday 8 September 2012

YEAR-LONG TRANSITION YEAR IRISH COURSES

Improve your language skills (oral & written expression, reading & listening comprehension) through our specially devised Irish programmes, which will help you prepare for the challenges of the Leaving Cert curriculum in an enjoyable, immersive class.

 Course Dates: TBC

Course Details:

• 6- 12 students per class
• 1 hour per week over 27 weeks
• Cost: €280 or €260 with early- booking discount before  Saturday 8 September 2012. The discount rate will apply after the early- booking date to families where 2 or more members are enrolling, the retired, and for the unemployed. No other discount will apply during early-booking period.

INTENSIVE PREPARATION WEEKEND  FOR LEAVING CERT HONOURS IRISH ORAL EXAM

A 2-day course scheduled just prior to the oral exam, this programme is designed to provide an
intensive immersive preparation to put the final polish on students’ study for the oral.

•  DATES: Saturday & Sunday just prior to LC oral exam (At time of printing, dates yet to be released by Department of Education and Science).
