Our courses, which concentrate specifically on the language component of the curriculum, are
designed to improve oral and written fluency, expression and comprehension in an immersive
classroom environment. Tutors are trained teachers with Gaeltacht experience (see timetable
overleaf).
FRENCH & IRISH IMMERSION COURSES
Keep your French and Gaeilge refreshed over the summer months! Brush up on your language skills in our
enjoyable immersion courses before returning to school in September 2012. An excellent alternative to an
exchange or Gaeltacht stay.

As part of our mission to nurture Franco-Irish relations, and in response to the changing curriculum
for second level, with greater emphasis on oral expression for Leaving-Cert level, AF de Cork is
delighted to introduce Irish language classes for Junior Cert and Leaving Cert students
in 2011-2012.

INTENSIVE PREPARATION WEEKEND
FOR LEAVING CERT HONOURS IRISH ORAL EXAM
A 2-day course scheduled just prior to the oral exam, this programme is designed to provide an
intensive immersive preparation to put the final polish on students’ study for the oral.
-> 6-12 students
-> COST: €190
-> DATES: Saturday & Sunday just prior to LC oral exam (At time of printing, dates yet to be released by
Department of Education and Science).
-> TIMES: Saturday 10.30-4.30pm (lunch break 1-2pm group tuition
Sunday 9.30am-1.30pm (one-to-one scheduled practice sessions) followed by 30 minute mock oral
and advice session.
