‘Les écritures’ by Françoise Rio
For this exhibition I drew inspiration from my sketches and research done throughout the years since my art studies – there are drawings of Brazil, Tahiti, India, Oxford … places where I used to live, as well as books and museums I researched … Françoise Rio
Rio’s work through the eyes of a viewer:
Your ideas are wonderful. Linking the present to the past, it is the weaving of a life that makes sense.
In my work with families, I always try to help them to make sense of their life, to link different moments, meetings, to give it a real consistency, a true colour. People often think that their lives are dull, without any purpose, without any movement, as if every moment was separated. But it is all the opposite.
Your work is a symbol of all of this. A colour alone doesn’t exist, a moment alone doesn’t exist, it is their unity that gives a beautiful consistency.
