  • CINEMA

  • An essential diary date for cinephiles – 27th February 2011, Alliance Française de CORK will roll out the red carpet for the 22nd Cork French Film Festival.

    Paul CALLANAN, Festival Artistic Director, is pursuing his quest in bringing to Cork yet again a rich and
    innovative programme of films to inspire the imagination, together with a host of French stars.

    A city wide Festival, supported by Board Gais Energy, main sponsor. Gate Cinema, main venue, Opera House, Pavillion, UCC, Triskel, Cork Vision Centre, Glucksman Gallery and others

    Our 2011 Festival will mirror our audience: curious, open-minded, diverse with whom film-makers and actors can develop real dialogue through masterclasses, workshops, Q&As, feature films, documentaries, cine-concerts, installations.



  • VISUAL ARTS

  • Visual Arts have a lively and continuing presence in our Gallery. ‘Regards croisés’ a series of monthly exhibitions by French and Irish artists.



  • LECTURES

  • As part of our involvement in le Débat d’Idée, we shall host in association with School of History, UCC, the Robert SCHUMAN Lecture which aims at enhancing a better understanding of today’s European society.
    Invited guest speakers include Minister for Foreign Affairs Michéal MARTIN, Herman Van ROMPUY, President of the European Council.



  • THEATRE

  • We seek to complement the already rich theatre tradition in Cork by presenting a theatre performance in the French language. Watch this space …



  • MUSIC

  • Alliance Française de CORK is pleased to be associated with Cork Guinness Jazz Festival, Cork Midsummer Festival, Fête de la musique on 21st June.



  • LITERATURE

  • We promote French literature throughout inviting French authors in association with UCC, Cork City Librairy, Munster Literary Centre.



  • CORK CULTURE NIGHT

  • We celebrate Cork Culture Night with the photographic exhibition in our Gallery by Irish Author Humanitarian Don MULLAN, unique in the sense that all photographs have been taken with a NOKIA mobile phone.
