Cork Culture Night – 21st September 2012

Alliance  Française de Cork we will be open until 10pm.

Programme: 

Beneath Shadow and Reason, exhibition of paintings by Irish artist Derick Hegarty  

8pm  - a concert by JFF Orchestra conducted by Jackie Murphy. Classic and traditional repertoire.

The J.F.F. Orchestra has successfully completed its first year. The orchestra’s main aim is to give students of all abilities a platform to perform on, validating all their hard work. It also gives its members the facility to enjoy each other’s company through the medium of music.

The orchestra has 20 members most of whom are local. We currently have violin players, a cellist and a flautist. The orchestra members meet once a week for an hour where they rehearse and spend time together during the break.

The orchestra was given the opportunity to make its first public appearance by Alliance Française de Cork, for which we are grateful.

The programme for next season will include a selection of Irish, French Classical and Popular music. – Jackie Murphy
