We are delighted to announce that Alliance Française de Cork has been nominated as an approved centre for the TCF tests devised the CIEP which are awarded by the French Ministry of Education. All our adult courses are strictly CEFR compliant(Common European Framework of Reference for language) and therefore prepare students for not only for these tests, but also for the DELF and DALF diplomas for which we are also the long-established, CIEP-approved Cork centre. The TCF test, for non-native learners, comprises a series of multiple-choice questions which examine the candidate’s proficiency in reading and listening comprehension, as well as in grammar. There is also an option to do a written and oral expression test. The TCF certificates are valid for two years. All candidates are assessed according to the CEFR scale from A1:1 (basic user) to C2(proficient/academic), therefore nobody fails; the result will simply show your level according to that scale. This test is particularly useful for visa applications, as well as for entry into certain universities, and for job applications. The tests are held at frequent intervals throughout the year – the dates for the first session will be issued very soon.
21st October – 19th November 2011The title of this exhibition is taken from the name of one of my paintings which was inspired by the sighting of a joyful bronze figure, of a dancing Faun in the Luxemburg garden in Paris, early one morning not long ago.
Many of my paintings and etchings are taken from ideas gleaned whilst travelling and also from scenes in everyday life. (more…)
