Alliance Française de Cork is pleased to present a talk by

Mary Catherine Murray, European Affairs, Department of the Taoiseach, to mark Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union.

The presentation will concentrate on the history of the Irish Embassy building in Paris, the interesting families who lived in this private house, the atmosphere of Avenue Foch, how the state came to acquire  it, and how it became the most important building in France for Irish citizens.

Pierre Étaix returns to the big screen

The celebrated ‘French Buster Keaton’ has finally won his battle over distribution rights to get his films shown again.

In the 1960s he was one of the kings of French comic cinema: a mild-mannered, Oscar-winning film-maker whose clownish japes and achingly funny films were known from Paris to New York and whose creative talent was hailed as genius by his counterparts.
