Aimé CESAIRE – La Force de Regarder demain
June 9, 2009
We are proud to present in our Gallery during the Summer months an Exhibition curated by the French Foreign Office on the life and work of the renowned and ever-inspiring all-time French Writer and Poet Aimé CÉSAIRE who coined the term ‘negritude’ and launched the literary movement called the “Great Black Cry”.
André Breton, the high priest of surrealism, describes CÉSAIRE as “A black man who embodies not simply the Black race but all mankind, who will remain for me the prototype of human dignity.”
