2005-2061: Derriere les rideaux is work presented in 2 parts. The major part, which includes 24 images, takes a look at everyday life of the people in Kathmandu, Nepal, when visited by the artist in Feb, March 2005. Supports and Displacements makes us wonder about the way we see and comprehend the world and our own thought structures. Indeed, the structure is not fixed; the spectator brings his own identity and interrogations. Besides, when he seeks to understand how the structure works, he opens up a new path in his way of thinking and in the structure itself, which changes dimension. The structure shifts and becomes the framework of the support… As regards the displacement, it becomes the expression of our thoughts and questions… (more…)

Pascal Ungerer is a photographer living in West Cork, where he has set up a studio dedicated to traditional methods of black and white printing. Pascal works mainly landscape photography, much of his work is inspired by the Irish countryside in which he lives. Prior to moving back to Ireland, Pascal lived in France and England for a number of years where he studied photography. While studying photography in London, he met a young French photographer named Gilles Peter.
